He changed the way we saw the environment. He changed the way I saw myself.
HE WAS FLYING FOR ME...John Denver. Troubador. Activist. Human Being. God I wanted to be like him. In the midst of my teenage angst he made wire-rimmed glasses and a high voice socially acceptable. He also helped raise the awareness of things not-so acceptable in a society. "War is not healthy for children and other living things...", "The Box", "One World". I'm trying to explain to my children how a man's life and message should make the world a better place. It struck me only today as I dug out my old tapes, that the image I thought I drew from the mirror must subconciously be the mirror he held up to my life. God I hope it's not too late.
