I have been drawing since I can remember. My mom has saved my first drawings, which of
course were only scribbles.. But I was 18 months when I made them… Okay, I don't think you want to hear that… LOL! Fast forward some. High school is when I finally go serious about art, however, if you'd me back then if
I would have ever thought I was a cartoonist.. I'd laugh in you face. I had wanted to be a Comic Book artist. Well, I gave up that dream to get married and have kids.
Recently, in the past year I found myself
plunged into the world of cartoons. And it all started with a joke cartoon. See my cat, Kitty, had tried to kill one of my finches and I was furious about it and threatened the cat with buying a BIG bird. Of course I
never bought the bigger bird, but one night I was soooo bored I started sketching a cartoon cat. Looking at the picture I remembered the incident and started drawing a cartoon. I inked colored it on the computer and
shared it with my fellow Bird breeders and owners. The reaction was mind blowing and before I knew it "A Bird's Life" was born!
Those Bird Crazy people, gave me the confidence to continue to broad my
horizons. After the first of the year, I'll be submitting "A Bird's Life" To Bird Talk magazine with hopes of being published. It's allowed me to go into a Logo design business. And to create a line of bird
magnets and open a Cafepress Store. And now I draw a cartoon for a local R/C Airplane group.
I know it doesn't seem like much now, but it hasn't even been a year yet! So I'm a newbie into the cartoon world… :) And I
know a lot of people won't like or get my cartoons… But if you only find one of them to like.. Then that's more then I could ever hope for. |
