Pain that persists beyond the usual healing course of an acute injury or disease and does not respond to standard medical treatment is considered chronic. Persistent pain can also result from chronic diseases such as arthritis, cancer, musculoskeletal or neurological disorders. Chronic pain affects all aspects of a person's life including daily activities, family life, work, leisure time, sleep patterns, and mood. |
|
Our Pain Management program is lead by expert pain specialist, Dr. Marina Russman M.D., a board certified Anesthesiologist with a specialty in Pain Management. Dr. Russman believes that persistent pain, whatever its origin, can be as devastating as the physical discomfort. She strongly supports the concept of a multidisciplinary health care team approach to the identification, diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain. It is her goal to provide relief of pain, prevent prolonged disability and return the individual to their maximum level of function within physical limitations. |
