Subject: All the children of the Earth /// Part 11 - Day 5
To:"Signature Fundraising" <erin@sigfund.com>, "Russ Rice" <russ@sigfund.com>, "Brad Silverman" <brad@sigfund.com>
Dear Russ and Brad,

I do not presume to know if this was part of a test --
or happy circumstance. Your trust in allowing me to
proceed at my own pace is allowing things to creative
fruition I had not anticipated.
I am truly blessed to be working on this with you --
for you.

One of my motives in the JIMMY JET project was to
create something non-political -- as my hands are
dirtied with such topics on a daily basis.

But the care and welfare of children -- any child is
probably the only valid political topic there is.

There is a current environemntal ad campaign,
"One-ify" that says "There is only one boy -- only one
girl -- only one sky..."

Jesus' parable about the good shepherd focus' on one
lost sheep.

I mentioned Big Valley hero Roy Rogers as having a
unique handshake deal with his business manager over a
lifetime.
He was unique in another way as well -- long before it
was made fashionable by Hollywood celebrities to adopt
children under the limelight, he and Dale did it
without fanfare. They adopted half a dozen!

Where am I going with this?
Back to something forgotten again --

My UNICEF program left in limbo, circa 1996:
"The Children Of the World are OUR children."

I am not a fan of the UN -- nor am I big on
nationalism. This presents a profound inner conflict
for myself as I am quite often the lone-geek saluting
our flag alone in public.
But there is something regal and exciting about a flag
snapping in the breeze. When it is your own flag it
stirs the emotions. When there is a parade of flags it
stirs the world.
More effort goes into the opening and closing
ceremonies of an Olympiad than the rest of the games
themselves.
Everyone love a parade.

I believe by adopting a "child" version of each
nations flag we can accomplish several things at once.

We will appear to be open and inviting to the ALL
children of the world -- non-exclusively -- and by
using the child version we can take the high road
so-to-speak and bypass the political world --
especially concerning those countries at odds with
ours -- for the sake of the children there as well.

Let us "suffer the children to come to us."

I do not mean to be blasphemous when I suggest that by
"lifting him up" (Jimmy Jet) we could "draw all the
world's children to ourselves", (KIDZONE-USA).

In practical terms I am not suggesting a complete
localization of the website in every language -- but
it would be within the realm of "doable-ness" to
provide a few translations -- and very easy to
incorporate an online translator as I have done at
Imagine Nations -- and no excuse not to provide these
flags online in a way that they could be displayed,
collected and even printed out as home made patches by
the kids.

My earlier adult project:
http://www.wonder-books.com/funnypaperz/prmfe.gif
MEN FROM EARTH
was based on the old idea of a Round Table -- worthy
men and women from all countries united in common
cause.

I would like to attempt to unite all children -- or at
least INvite them to our playground with no other
cause than themselves.

Pls. see attachements 1-13

The following pages illustrate how simple it is to
arrive at recognizeable flags with colors and
compositions of each nation -- but substituting our
"hand-print" for stars, crests, and other political
symbols.

As a mater of fact -- and only by accident of
sketching over and over and over again today -- I am
liking the idea of a custom hand-print we can
trademark --
one that uses a heart-shape for the palm.

More on this with later sketches...

Best!
