Subject: Where's the fun? - Part 20 - Day 12
To:brad@sigfund.com
Hi Brad,

You ask a great question -- maybe the best and only
question: "Where's the fun?"

I have only provided a working map at this point.

If we look at a few of the best maybe we can answer
the question together...

1. I need an exciting template/window frame/overlay
that will allow the various elements to interact.
Let's call this the CONSOLE.

I think WB does the best job at this.

Kids' WB!

2. You need a viable 3rd party advertising mechanism
incorporated into the design.

WB.com, Disney.com and Muppets.com all do a great job
of cross-selling their own content.

Again I think WB does the best job.

3. As far as more subtle "experience" effects go --
Muppets.com does a nice thing with their photo
realistic approach -- notice the balloons escaping in
the distance?
http://muppets.go.com/main.html
Muppets.com -- The New Official Home of the Muppets!

I'd like to borrow a page from all of them and provide
the real experiences that you would find walking down
"Mainstreet":

1. Balloon vendors
2. Refreshments & snacks
3. Souvineers
4. Parades of characters
5. Characer "greeters"
6. Fireworks display

All of the above would be part of the "background"
effects bring the park to life.

All of these things would occur within the main map
background.

BUT!!!
In our last conversation you mnetioned a desire to
incorporate as many features into the landing page as
possible rather than plan on the deeper layers
documented in my last post.

Very well --
I will need to make a very involved CONSOLE.
One that will function on all levels at once...

Pls. see attached GENERIC SINGLE LEVEL consoles...
images 1, 2, 3...

Pls. compare to attached CUSTOM SINGLE LEVEL
consoles...
images 4, 5, 6...

I will follow your lead and work toward the Generic,
but as you can see the added punch in the Customs --
if I am able to get Russ to introduce specific brands,
this is where the payoff will be for your clients.

Best!
