Hey Brad -- Just like a bad dream -- everything was fine and online this morning -- I don't know if you have had a chance to even check it out yet... Yesterday you asked if I could construct a simple street with buildings on the left and on the right. I explained that that type of D&D perspective is problematic on several visual levels and very difficult on a programming level. Out of respect to you and Russ I want to illustrate my position and not just ask you to believe me. Pls. see image 1 attached. This is from the same bird's eye view we have now -- already you can see that as the buildings are aligned they begin to occult each other more than our simple regrouping shown in last night's link. Pls. see image 2 attached. Here in what is a traditional street-level view the phenomenon is exacerbated to the point we lose the benefit of the high-ground so to speak. While it is the most true-to-life feel of walking thru CityWalk -- it is very poor for a virtual experience or navigating on screen. Pls. see image 3 attached. Now this is a completely different alternative way to treat a 2-D background in an attempt to simulate a 3-D experience. This is a background form Disney's classic "Pinocchio" -- as you pan from left to right Pls. see image 4, 5, 6 attached. the viewer is made to feel that they are actually traversing a winding cobblestone village. If you would like to pursue this type of experience I have no objection -- but it is a complete restart for me design wise -- with the exception of the console interface which I still strongly defend. I actually still defend my last reorganization of the "bird's-eye" view in that it surpasses the experience offered at Diney.com by allowing the navigation I have built in. I would just like the chance to create final versions of the architecture. All links are now functional. So there you have it -- and me your faithful servant. Two examples of what I do not think will work and one alternative that does -- in an effort to earn Russ' undying enthusiasm. But at a cost of starting over with a 3rd park design. Pls. -- PLEASE let me know what I can do at this point. Best! Joe King "That Joe Guy" Making the world a funnier place... __________________________________ Yahoo!
