Subject: The World of Tomorrow /// Part 8 - Day 4
To:"Signature Fundraising" <erin@sigfund.com>, "Russ Rice" <russ@sigfund.com>, "Brad Silverman" <brad@sigfund.com>
Dear Russ and Brad,
I have previously presented a detailed analysis of
both real-world theme parks and their virtual
counterparts on the Web.
What we have not done yet -- and I do so now here to
close the loop -- is bring you to the grandaddy of
them all -- the fountainhead of all expositions:
The 1939 Wold's Fair AKA "The World of Tomorrow".

Pls. see image 1

"I think that there are moments where you can see the
world turning from what it is into what it will be.
For me, the New York World's Fair is such a moment.
It is a compass rose pointing in all directions,
toward imaginary future and real past, false future
and immutable present, a world of tomorrow contained
in the lost American yesterday."

"The fair itself was divided into a set of thematic
areas or zones, shuffling masses of people from one
exhibit to the next either with roads or passageways
for logical transition between spaces or with the
flash of elaborate imagery that has come to be called
"eye candy." The Trylon and Perisphere, frequently
referred to as the Theme Center, served as the focal
point of the site, and the long promenade of
Constitution Mall stretched from the Center to the
Court of Peace..."

Pls. see image 2

Once again -- compare this to the famous entrance of
Epcot Center at Disneyworld, FL.

Pls. see image 3

I am not trying to take anything away from the genius
of Disney himself -- but simply point out that his
greatest gift may have been simply "reminding" people
of what they had forgotten.
Even the early animated features were modern
retellings of forgotten European fairytales.
The primary of pleasure of walking down Main St. USA
is what?
Yes, remembering the way America USED to be.

We had briefely touched on our own personal
experiences with things lost or forgotten from our
childhoods; exploits like those of Evel Kneivel, Craig
Breedlove, even Mercury Astronaut John Glenn's return
to space on the Shuttle.

What I would like to create -- for your Internet
experience and subscriber membership destination,
is simply what we were all promised a very long time
ago.
The World of Tomorrow.

I will layout this field of dreams with samples of
futuristic architecture that itself contains energy of
hope and optimism.
Each of these pavilions will house the various
activities and features from our combined wish lists.
As far as I know -- no one has pulled these images
together into one place -- one brand -- one franchise
such as we have undertaken.

HEALTHIER KIDS FOR A HEALTHIER WORLD?.
We believe the future, does in fact, belong to our
children.
That said, how do we caretake such a valuable
resource?
Here at WONDER-BOOKS  , our response is two-fold;
by nurturing the elements of self-esteem and
imagination, our books provide the catalyst of
excitement that will give your young readers the
confidence to not just face the future, but make it a
better one -- for us all.

Let joy & innocence prevail!

This may be the reason we were brought together after all.

Best!
